Volunteer of the Month, December 2019

About me

I am an international student who’s studying Master of Public Health at University of Melbourne.

What inspired me to become a Hepatitis Victoria Volunteer?

There are many reasons – the work here is closely related to my study, I’ve never volunteered at an organisation before… but what inspired me the most is the passion and dedications I saw from the Hepatitis Victoria team and other volunteers.

My favourite Hepatitis Victoria sessions or moments

One of my favourite moments would be the first HepVic community health promotion event I’ve been to as a participant. It was at that moment that I felt the passion that Aurora and other enthusiastic volunteers showed to the participants, I decided to become a volunteer at Hepatitis Victoria.

What tips do I have for new volunteers?

I am probably not the best person to give tips, as I’ve only had my first volunteering experience for 3 months. But I would say enjoy the work and appreciate any small change you make, and don’t worry too much because you have a very kind and helpful team.
